James O'Regan was 19 years old when transported to NSW. He was single, native place was Derry. 17/11/1838: Tried Sydney Supreme Court for perjury. In the case of 'Phillips". Relative to a man who was struck with a pick at an Iron Gang at Hassans Walls. 20/11/1838: Syd. Gaz: In consequence of the gross variation between his evidence at the Police Office and in the witness box of the Supreme Court - Guilty, transportation for 7 years. James was sent to Norfolk Island and arrived in VDL on 26/7/1845 per "Governor Phillip. He was then described as: single, labourer, 5'6 1/2" tall, 29 years old, ruddy complexion, black hair, hazel eyes. James was sent to Cascades until his sentence expired. 10/12/1845: Remainder of his sentence remitted. 1845: Free Certificate. 27/10/1852: Steerage passenger per "Clarence" from Launceston to Melbourne. Free by servitude, listed as "Regan".
