Harriett Owen married Thomas Smith who came out on the Marquis of Hastings as per the "Permission for Convicts to Marry" which gives the ships they came out on. She married Thomas on 12 September 1837.

married Thomas Smith (convict "Lloyds") 12 September 1837 at the chapel of All Saints at Sutton Forest NSW, she married Constable George Cheffonier in 1844 at Berrima.Known to the later family as Granny Cheff.
