The following notice appeared in The Australian on May 4 1838: ABSCONDED, FROM my Establishment at Bungarrabee, on the 29th April last, WILLIAM PAGETT (commonly called SHARK), and JACOB ALSTON—both free by servitude, and under written agreement to me as Bullock Drivers, &c, for six months ; I therefore beg to caution the public against employing them.
