In the colony, Mary Ann married James Brown, the son of John Brown (Convict, Earl Cornwallis, 1801) and Mary Garnham (Convict, Speedy, 1800).




(Old Bailey Transcript t18230625-117) MARY ANN PALMER, Theft > grand larceny, 25th June 1823. 970. MARY ANN PALMER was indicted for stealing, on the 15th of March, a table cloth, value 3 s. , the goods of John Waddington Laws. ELIZABETH LAWS. I am the wife of John Waddington Laws; we live on Saffron-hill. On the 15th of March I left a table cloth at Mrs. Walker's, went for it in the evening, and it was gone; the prisoner boarded with me at the time; I did not send her for it; I never saw her again till she was taken. LUCY WALKER. This table cloth hung on my line; the prisoner said she would fold it up; she went away with it; she had slept at my house for two months before. I never saw her afterwards. WILLIAM READ. I apprehended her. GUILTY. Aged 21. Transported for Seven Years.
