Convict Notes




The Convict Indentures state that Alexander Park was 20 years old. He could read and write; religion Presbyterian; status single and a native of county Antrim. He was a butcher. Alexander was convicted of robbery at Antrim on 13 June 1837 and sentenced to life. He had no prior convictions. Physical attributes: Height 5 feet 5 1/2 inches; complexion dark and pot pitted; hair brown and eyes brown. Transport number 188. Prisoner number 38-185. Received ticket of leave on 12 April 1847 (number 47/352) and allowed to remain in the district of Port Macquarie. Altered to Windsor on 14 August 1847. Received ticket of leave passport on 31 August 1847 (number 47/588) which allowed him to travel between Windsor and Mudgee in the service of Mr R. Hassall for 12 months. Ticket of leave cancelled on 11 February 1848 for being .... Restored on 4 August 1848 (48/261) at Parramatta on petition. Convict Death Register states that Alexander Park on Neptune, 1838) died aged 30 years old on 8 July 1848 as an Invalid at Establishment Parramatta.
