On Thursday arrived from Calcutta, via Derwent, the ship Mary, Captain Ormon, with a various cargo. -Passengers from Calcutta, Captain Faithfull and Lieutenant Hamilton:-The Mary sailed from Calcutta the 23d of February, and left the Pilot the 1st of March. Sydney Gazette, Sat 7 Jun 1817. -------------------------------------------------- Convicts who sailed on the 'Mary' direct from Ireland - 1819 & 1836 - are currently being listed, incomplete data to date.

June 15 1830 Ux Kain- married to Kain. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Marriage Record. https://stors.tas.gov.au/RGD36-1-1p171j2k Marriage of Thomas Caines, of George Town, prisoner, bachelor, and Elizabeth Parker, of George Town, prisoner, spinster were married at Launceston by Banns on 8 Feb 1826, by John Youl, chaplain. Thomas signed his name, Elizabeth, her mark X. Witnesses were Solomon Hulburt (?) of Launceston, shoemaker, prisoner. His mark X. And Rose Jones, of Launceston, prisoner, (Her mark X) and William Betteridge, Clerk.

Convicted at the Lancaster Quarter Sessions held at Salford, Manchester 22/7/1822. Stole a watch at Manchester. (A liberate of all such persons in the Castle of Lancaster in the House of Correction at Preston, Salford and Liverpool as were bought before the Court or have taken their trials at the General Quarter Session of the Peace, begun and holden at Lancaster, 9 January 1821) "Says she was born at Manchester, sallow complexion, grey eyes, brown hair, little finger, right hand crooked. Cotton worker, spinster" (Prison Commission Records- Lancaster Gaol- Register of Crown Cases 1820-1826)
