Phoebe Parkin was sick on the voyage to Tasmania. The surgeon recorded: "Folios 21-23: Phoebe Parkin, aged 29, Convict; disease or hurt, dyspepsia. Put on sick list, 3 May 1852, at sea. Discharged, 8 July 1852, to the Colonial Hospital. A 'poor woman of a broken down constitution - temperament leuco - phlegmatic and of a ordinary stature', she complained of a dull pain in the right hypochondriac region with a sense of fullness and pain in the epigastrium. She also suffered suppression of urine on 9 June and had not passed any for two days and on 14 June a severe cough and expectoration."
