1832, 4 January: Convicted at Preston, Lancashire, for stealing from the person. This was his first offence. On the same day, he was admitted to the Ganymede prison hulk, and listed as 18 years old. He was sent from there on 10 February for transportation (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849). 1832: On arrival in VDL, he was 19 and single. 1843, 15 December: Granted a Ticket of Leave. 1846: Received his Free Certificate No.265 (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON34-1-3$init=CON34-1-3P488).
