He married Agnes (Shales her first marriage) at Southwark London on 5 11 1795. He was tried at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to Life, held at London Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict with his family on 2 6 1797 after a voyage of 10months on GANGES. He is recorded in 1827 as a farmer & in 1828 with Conditional Pardon with his son at Richmond. He was recorded in 1830 as a farmer. He was recorded in 1806 Free by Servitude with his partner Agnes (Williams) as settler on 100acres at Liberty Plains. He was a dealer in 1811. He owned land now known as Sydney Markets. Sainty & Johnson; 1828 Census of New South Wales: [Ref- P0206] Parnell, Thomas (Sen) 52, CP, Ganges 1796. Thomas was living with his son Thomas [P0200] and his family at Richmond where Thomas (Jnr) was a farmer.




Thomas had been married in England, prior to his trial. Married Agnes Shales, Southwark, London; 5 November 1795. They had a son Thomas born in 1796. When Thomas was transported on 'Ganges', Agnes and the small child came free on the same vessel. However, the marriage did not last and Agnes soon deserted Thomas and went and lived with Samuel Thorley (aka Thurley) (Convict, Active, 1791).
