Matthew Parrott was 19 years old on arrival in VDL - he was 5'5" tall, fair complexion, light brown hair, dark grey eyes, 2 blue marks on left arm, scar on right arm, single. Native Place: Carlton. 1841: Free Certificate. 10/1/1848: married Catherine Keife at Spring Bay. Matthew was 27 Catherine was 30. No children found from this marriage. 1866: A farmer at Bream Creek, Sorell. 11/7/1885: Wife Catherine died, aged 54, died of Brain Disease at the New Town Pauper Establishment. Born Ireland. 3/8/1886: married Catherine McDonald, aged 17, he was 60, a widower, at Sorell. Children: 25/11/1887: Elizabeth Parrott born Sorell. 28/6/1891: Vernie Edward born Sorell. 23/10/1894: Linda Ella born Sorell. 8/3/1897: Vera Agnes born Sorell. 16/8/1898: Catherine Parrott, born Tas., aged 29 years, died of Phthisis - wife of Matthew Parrott, Labourer. - Sorell. 21/12/1901: Mathew Parrott died at the New Town Charitable Institution, aged 92...Arrived "William Metcalfe".
