James Andrew, age 1 ½, BC. -------------------------------------------------- DIED.—On Wednesday last, Mr. George Pashley, Senr., of Cumberland-street, aged 69, an old and respected colonist—having arrived by the third fleet in the year 1791. The Sydney Monitor, 16 Dec 1835. -------------------------------------------------- A newspaper report hints of son George's extra-marital affairs: A new brewery has been established at Pitt-street; the beer seems pretty good.- George Pashley was charged on Wednesday week at the Police-office by his Rib, with; sojourning on Garden Island in company with a certain fair one, appellated Esther Stokes; poor Johanna bewailed her neglected state, and declared that the fair Esther had deprived her husband of his senses! The Court dismissed the case so far as related to George, but ordered his chere amie to correct her amorous propensities, by cracking stones in the receptacle for virgins at Parramatta, (Quere - Is Esther Stokes free?) Sydney Monitor, 5 Oct 1829. -------------------------------------------------- Another report about his son George: George Pashley, of Cumberland street, was charged by Inspector Molloy, with creating a disturbance the previous day in Princes-street. Molloy stated he heard the cry of Murder, and on his proceeding to the spot, he saw the defendant stripped to his trowsers, and challenging a Mr. Somerbell to fight. Somerbell stated that Mr Pashley called at his house while he witness was at dinner. And taking a looking glass from off a table, placed it before witness and asked him whose face it was; witness replied it was his own, on which Pashley said it was the face of d------d villain and then struck him. The defendant was bound to the peace, himself in forty pounds, and two sureties in twenty pounds each. The Sydney Monitor, 15 Sep 1837. -------------------------------------------------- Burials.
