Theft; grand larceny (to 1827). 11th January 1815. 187. BENJAMIN PASKINS was indicted for feloniously stealing, on the 16th of September , one pair of pantaloons, value 10 s. one coat, value 4 l. two waistcoats, value 30 s. one hat, value 5 s. one jacket, value 5 s , the property of Henry Downer Esq............. GUILTY, aged 21. Transported for Seven Years. First Middlesex Jury, before Mr. Common Serjeant.

Quarter Sessions. Hobart Town, November 27 1834. James Talbot, Benjamin Paskins, and James M'Donald, were charged with stealing bread and meat from Mr. Cobb's public house. James Talbot not guilty, Paskins, and M'Donald, guilty — sentenced to hard labour for two years. On Ticket of Leave. 1823: Drunk and disorderly. Fined 5/-. 1830: Drunkenness. Fined. 1830: Failing to do his duty. Admonished and returned to duties. 1834: Stealing cheese and beef. Committed for Trial. To serve 2 yrs hard labour in Chain Gang. 18/12/1857: Pauper at Port Arthur. 06/06/1873: Died, at Port Arthur, Tasmania.
