The following case was before the Court of Claims: Case No. 429.—Mary Pate, wife of Reuben Pate, of Market-street, Sydney, tailor, in opposition to Richard Williams. Twenty-seven perches, in the county of Cumberland, parish of Saint James, town of Sydney, allotment No. 21 of section No. 32 ; bounded on the east by Castlereagh-street bearing , north 4 degrees west 78 links ; on the north by allotment No. 22 bearing west 5 degrees south 92 links ; then west 16 degrees north 5 links ; then west 5 degrees south 117 links ; on the west by allotment No. 14 bearing south 5 degrees east 79 links ; and on the south by allotment No. 20 bearing east 4 degrees 15 minutes north 211½ links. The above description was advertised in the Gazette of 13th April, 1839, page 433, in order to the making out of a deed of grant in the name of Richard Williams. Claimant alleges, that the allotment was given by Governor King to her late father, James Taylor, who died intestate and she is his only child and heiress at law. NSW Govt Gazette, 24 July 1839.
