Patrick Field was transported on the Friendship, departing 24th Aug 1799 and arriving 16th Feb 1800 with 161 passengers.
This convict ship, being 274 tons and 75 feet long was one of the light weight ships in the fllet and was skippered by Master Francis Walton. Built in Scarborough in 1784, she carried 76 male and 21 female convicts. During her return voyage to England her crew came down with scurvy and with insufficient crew to man her, she was scuttled in the straights of Macassar. The survivors were transferred to the Alexander.

Family connections for (Patrick (Field) are: Some amendments added Jul 2025. FIELD Patrick/Patt (Field) was born about 1776. He was tried as a political prisoner, being a member of United Irishmen, in Ireland, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 16 2 1800 after a voyage of 5.5months on FRIENDSHIP. He was appointed constable on 29 12 1810. He had been Pardoned when he married Maria (Brian) on 7 6 1813 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was Free by Servitude by 1814. He was also recorded from 27 12 1822 to 20 3 1824 as constable at Sydney. He is recorded in 1825 as a landholder with his family at Kissing Point. [Some details taken from this Website] Maria (Brian) was born on 27 11 1796 at Sydney Cove & baptised on 15 1 1797 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. When her mother left in about 1799 she remained with her father & is recorded with him in 1800 & perhaps 1802. She is recorded in 1825 with her family at Kissing Point. She died on 31 8 1828 age31 at Field of Mars & was buried, as (Field), at St Annes CofE Kissing Point. He is recorded in 1825 with his parents at Kissing Point. 2.Ann (Field) was born on 5 5 1817 & baptiseed on 25 5 1817 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She is recorded in 1825 with her parents at Kissing Point. 3.Joseph (Field) was born on 31 7 1819 & baptised on 15 8 1819 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He is recorded in 1825 with his parents at Kissing Point. 4.Mary Ann (Field) was born on 25 11 1821 & baptised on 1 1 1822 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She is recorded in 1825 with her family at Kissing Point. 5.Stephen (Field) was born in 1824. 6.Patrick (Field) was born in 1826. 7.John (Field) was born in 1828.
