On the Irish Convict to NSW website he is listed as Daniel or David Patterson, aged 17 b1808 and a Pedlar - On his COF on Ancestry he is described as - A labourer, born 1794, age 37, 5'8" tall, sallow complexion, black hair, dark hazel eyes, scar on right cheek bone, scar on left eyebrow, nose twisted to left side. Colonial Secretary Index: PATTERSON, David. Per "Hooghley", 1825 1825 Apr 26: Request that he be assigned to David Kelly (Reel 6051; 4/1749 pp.328-9) 1825 Sep 5,8: Re permission to marry Ann Patterson alias Doherty at Sydney (Reel 6064, 4/1787 p.131; Reel 6015, 4/3515 p.314) 1825: Married Ann Doherty at St. James church, Sydney. 16/8/1831: COF - A labourer, born 1794, age 37, 5'8" tall, sallow complexion, black hair, dark hazel eyes, scar on right cheek bone, scar on left eyebrow, nose twisted to left side. Isabella Paterson, aged 6 months was onboard the John Bull 1821 with her mother, Ann Patterson.

Married to Ann Patterson age 43 who came on the John Bull in 1822 she is a labourer, with son David age 1, Both Catholics New South Wales, Australia, Colonial Secretary's Papers, 1788-1856 Main Series of Letters Received, 1788-1826 Letter from Ann's assigned employer(David Kelly) who wanted to retain her service and therefore asked the colonial secretary if David patterson could be assigned to him, Suggests they were married previously
