He married Hannah (Murphy) on 7 7 1792 at Sydney (marriage not recorded in Smees records). He was Free by Servitude by 1798. In 1828 he is recorded with his family as landholder of 100acres at Hunters Hill. John, a Tailor by trade, was tried and convicted at the Hicks Hall General Sessions, Middlesex on 12th December 1788, he was sentenced to transportation for 7 years. Left England on 27th March 1791. Ship:- the 'Admiral Barrington' sailed with 300 male convicts on board of which 36 died during the voyage. Arrived 16th October 1791. Married convict Hannah Murphy ('Mary Ann' 1791) on 7th July 1792 at Sydney, they had 10 children between 1795-1813. John died on 16th March 1825 at Sydney age 56.
