In the colony, George was employed as a stockman. 1828 Census.. Ref P0435 Page 298: George Peace, 27, Goverment Servant, Speke, Life, Protestant, stockamn to R. Crawford, Prospect. In 1835 (aged 34) he was granted permission to marry Elizabeth Hems, aged 19. Permission granted November 4th 1835. Elizabeth was a convict, transported on 'Fanny' in 1833. No children of this union have been located as yet.
