21/7/1841 Bury and Norwich Post Suffolk, England: At Ipswich Borough Sessions, Isaac Pear, was convicted of breaking into the dwelling-house of Mr. Setterfield, of Falcon-street, and stealing 94 sovereigns, 4 half loafs, 6 1/2 crowns, 1 pound in small silver, watch and appendage. Isaac Pear was listed as 25 years old on arrival in VDL - He was born in Ipswich, was 5'7" tall, dark complexion, black hair, no whiskers, grey eyes, pockpitted scar on forehead, could read and write, single, protestant. Father: John Mother: Susannah 1 brother and 7 sisters. 1/8/1848: TOL 29/3/1851: CP approved. 20/7/1851: Steerage passenger, Launceston to Melbourne per 'Shamrock' - he had a CP. 21/12/1854: Married Lydia Webb, 30, a widow - he was 37 and listed as a Gentleman, they were married at St. David's, Hobart Town. No children found. (Lydia was born in Tasmania C1824, the daughter of William Harnett/Arnott - she married Henry Webb in 1844 in Tasmania (Have not found their marriage listed), Children were: WEBB HENRY WILTSHIRE 1839 WEBB LYDIA AMELIA 1841 WEBB JOSEPH ALBERT 1844 WEBB CHARLOTTE ROSINA 1845 WEBB WILLIAM GEORGE 1846 22/2/1856 The Hobarton Mercury: NOTICE. October 1865: Had sold the Duke of Clarence Hotel. 30/12/1865: Had taken over Morton's Hotel, Bourke-Street, Melbourne. 19/10/1881 The Argus, Melbourne: Pear. - on the 16th inst., at her daughter's residence, Capel-street, West Melbourne, Lydia, wife of Isaac Pear Post-Office Club Hotel, after a lingering illness, aged 57 years. 7/9/1885 The Age, Melbourne: PEAR.-On the 5th September, at 15 Capel-street, West Melbourne, Mr. Isaac Pear, late of the Post Office Club Hotel, Elizabeth-street, Melbourne, aged 69 years.
