Gloucester Summer Assizes. … Charles Pegler, for stealing a heifer, the property of J. Nichols of Cam ; Bath Chronicle, 2 Sep 1830. During last week the following convicts were removed from the Gloucester County Gaol the hulks Woolwich, pursuant their transportation, viz.: —For life: ... Chas. Pegler, ... Charles Pegler was listed as 21 years old on arrival. Charles was 5'9" tall, dark brown hair, brown eyes, woman inside left arm, single. Charles was the son of John Pegler and Elizabeth Pool. 1832-35 Musters: Assigned to Mr. F. Bryant. 25/4/1839: TOL 13/7/1841: Misconduct in being absent from muster - Admonished. 25/6/1841: Married Mary Ann Collins 22, (Charles was 28) at Hobart - 10 children. Mary Ann died 13/6/1900 at Ellendale, Tas. 1/7/1842: CP 24/12/1876: Charles died of 'Dropsey of the legs from liver disease'. He was aged 66, a farmer, and he died at New Norfolk, Tasmania.
