7/8/1832 Maidstone Journal and Kentish Advertiser Kent, England: Penland, Jane, and Wm. Lee__Penland charged on suspicion of stealing 2 sheets, &c. the property of Wm. Clarke, at St. Nicholas, Deptford; Lee with receiving one of the said sheets, well knowing it to have been stolen__Penland transported 7 years ; Lee acquitted. Crime: Pledging/Pawning. Jane Penland was 22 years old on arrival in NSW - she was 5'1½" tall, ruddy and little freckled complexion, light brown hair, grey eyes, scar inside corner of right eyebrow, another left side of forehead. 17/9/1839: COF
