Enoch Perkins was listed as 16 years old on arrival. Occupation: Picture frame maker. Enoch was 5'3¾" tall, dark complexion, brown hair, grey eyes.




Enoch PERKINS was convicted at Chester, England on 30 Aug 1830 for house breaking and stealing. Previous conviction for stealing. 14 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship "Red Rover" arriving 26 March 1831. Single man. Colony of VDL: 1832: Assigned to Mr. R. Stuart. Absconded for a period of 2 mths. To be sent to a Penal Settlement for 3 yrs. To be removed from Port Arthur Penal Settlement to G. Thomson Esq at New Norfolk. 60 lashes. 1833: Absconded. 75 lashes. At Port Arthur. 1834: Abscenting himself from Port Arthur. 100 lashes. 1835: Cutting firwood for private purposes. 14 days in irons at Port Arthur. 1836: Making a canoe, at Sandy Bay. 2 mths at Port Arthur. 1837: Harbouring an offender. Existing sentence extended by 2 yrs. 1838: Abseconded. To Port Arthur Penal settlment and to be held at Hard Labour, in chains. 11 July 1838: Sentence extended by 3 yrs. 1839: Absent from his place of work. 21 Sept 1839: Died, at Port Arthur.
