George Perryman was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 13th Jul 1829 and arriving 14th Dec 1829 with 200 passengers.

Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

764. GEORGE PERRYMAN was indicted for stealing, on the 4th of April , I handkerchief, value 3s., the goods of George John Cherry Paul , from his person . GEORGE JOHN CHERRY PAUL . I am a captain in the East India Company's service . On the 4th of April I was on the back seat of one of the stages, coming from the West India Docks ; I had not been there above ten minutes before I felt something at my coat - I turned round, and found my pocket handkerchief extracted from my pocket, and lying on the seat of the coach; the prisoner was there - he got up behind the coach some how; I seized him by the hand, and gave him into custody - this is my handkerchief. Prisoner's Defence. I had been to the docks to try and get some work; I got up behind a coach, and saw this gentleman's handkerchief half way out of his pocket; I tried to get up and touch him, but he turned round and accused me of picking his pocket.
