Transported for stealing a handkerchief and conditionally pardoned during passage as long as he didn't return to England during the term of his sentence.

Original land grant dated 1 May, 1856, signed by the colonial governor, granting to Charles Peters, just over one acre in the township of St Helens. Land located on the corner of the Esplanade and Circassian Street.
