Convict Notes

Elizabeth was convicted at the Lancaster Assizes on 26/3/1805 of having stolen two hankerchiefs and a piece of muslin from two different shops at Liverpool. She had been arrested in Nov 1804. The calendar of prisoners gives her age as 35 at the time of the trial (most likely incorrect), in contrast her later certificate of freedom. There is a death record of an Elizabeth Pearson in Sydney in July 1838 who age at death (61) would match with the certificate of freedom age/d.o.b
