Thomas Martin, 45, Stanton Pettit, 26, (in company with G. Page, who is not yet taken) for stealing one sheep, in Ebony, the property of R. Curtis; also charged with stealing one sheep, the property John Neve the elder, and John Neve the younger — Kentish Gazette, 21 March 1815. Early Thursday were removed under strong guard from his Majesty’s gaol, at Maidstone, and put hoard the Retribution Hulk, Sheerness, for transportation, 25 male convicts, viz. Richard Raker, Thomas Howard, John Woodgate, Richard Dennis, Thomas Martin, Stanton Pettitt, Thomas Jennings, and Thomas Osborne, life. Robert Stanton Petitt (various spellings) was born in Ebony, Kent, England on 4 September 1786. He was the son of William Pettit and his wife Lydia (nee Stubberfield). He was convicted at the Kent Assizes for sheep stealing and transported on the Fanny. He married Eleanor Morley on 11 February 1822 in Liverpool., NSW. He died on 11 April 1869 at Concord NSW.
