Chester Assizes. John Huxley, 29, from Beeston.and Philip Macklauglin alias Macklin, from Ireland, for breaking into the dwelling house of Henry Tomkinson , Esq of Dorfold, and stealing thereout bills and notes the amount of thirty nine pounds—Sentence respited. Manchester Mercury, 8 May 1810.  We are requested to state, that the property stolen from Dorfold Hall, by John Huxley and Philip M‘Laughlin, consisted solely of Nantwich Promissory Notes, as specified in the indictment against them, Chester Chronicle, 11 May 1810 At our county assizes which commence tomorrow at the Castle, the following prisoners are to take their trials:— 1. John Huxley, aged 29, a servant, from Beeston, and 2. Philip Macklaughlin, alias Macklin, aged 26, a servant from Ireland, found guilty  last Assizes, of stealing 34£. and upwards the property of Edward Tomkinson  of Dorfold, Esq.—Sentence respited. Chester Courant, 18 Sep 1810. Philip M* convicted at our last spring assizes stealing 39£. from Mr. Tomkinson's house at Dorford, to be transported seven years.—John Huxley, (formerly servant to Mr. Tomkinson) for the same offence, to be transported for life.
