Samuel Phillips was 21 years old on arrival and was transported for ‘Stealing a watch’. Samuel was 5’1 ½” tall, brown hair, dark grey eyes, Mermaid on left arm, man on same, S O and a woman on right arm. Father: a glass blower at native place of St. Jacobs, Bristol. Brother: Thomas. He also had a sister – Samuel left a love token which was on the head of an Anglesea penny token, “Dear Sister From your unfortunate brother Sam’l Phillips Transported May 2nd 1820”. 20/2/1828: TOL, Pittwater. 24/9/1835: Free Certificate

Samuel Phillips was convicted at Bristol for stealing. 14 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Juliana'.
