After the murder by aboriginals of her first husband. Sarah received compensation from Governor Hunter in the form of a land grant of 60 acres at Petersham Hill. Four years later she was married to Thomas Upton at Windsor by Samuel Marden the second Chaplin. They took up farming at McHillar on a gift deed of 25 acres on the Hawkesbury River.

Arrived on the Mary Ann first female convict ship that left England 24/01/1791 and arrived 09/07/1791. Mary Ann was a ship of 298 tons and had been built in 1772 in France. Crime - Stealing 14 yds Lace, 18 yds Edging 4 yds Muslin and 4 Stocking/Handkerchiefs. Sentenced - Death Hertfordshire Assizes. Life in the colonies. First Marriage - 30/01/1795–Thomas Hoskisson (Hodgkis) killed by Aboriginals Lower Blue Mountains Had 3 children. Second Marriage – Thomas Upton 04/06/1803. 8 children. Born in Bishops Storford Hertfordshire UK. Died Windsor NSW Australia
