11/4/1834 Chelmsford Chronicle Essex, England: CROWN COURT Guilty.—To he transported for life. George Vincent, 19, labourer, and Abraham Pilgrim, were convicted of stealing, at Earls Colne fair, a cap, the property of Edward Owers.—Pilgrim was also convicted of stealing, at the same fair, handkerchief, belonging to Caroline Cowlin. Abraham was born in Staffordshire, England in 1810 to Abraham Pilgrim and Elizabeth. (Also found birth dates of 1812 and 1815. Abraham was listed as 19? years old and born in 1815 on arrival in VDL and was transported for 'Stealing wearing apparel from the person'. He was born in Colchester. Gaol Report: Bad character several times Imprisoned before and convicted. Abraham was 5'6" tall, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, single, a labourer. 1835 Muster: Assigned to Mr. R. Murray. 1838-1842: Was a Constable, dismissed for refusing to obey orders. 27/10/1843: TOL 11/10/1843: A Constable again. 25/12/1847: CP 29/1/1849: Pardoned 1850: Married Margaret Gailbraith at Houghton, Church of England, NSW - 16 children listed. - Margaret died in 1920. 29/6/1865 Maitland Mercury, NSW: TWENTY-FIVE POUNDS BEWARD. STOLEN, from the Big Creek, on or about the 13th June, a BAY PONY, branded AP near shoulder. Any person giving such information that will convict the thief shall receive the above reward from the Paterson Prosecuting Society. ABRAHAM PILGRIM. Paterson, 19th June. 27/4/1878 Maitland Mercury: SERIOUS ACCIDENT-We learn that Mr. Abraham Pilgrim, a farmer on the Mowbray Estate was thrown from is horse whilst returning from Paterson to his residence, on Tuesday the 16th instant, and within a short distance of his home, by which he received such injuries to his head, that fears are entertained for his recovery. He laid in an insensible state up to the following Saturday, when he slightly regained conciousness, but is still in a critical state. 22/8/1891 Maitland Mercury: FUNERAL. THE FRIENDS of the late ABRAHAM PILGRIM are respectfully invited to ATTEND HIS FUNERAL : To move from his late residence, Victoria-street, Horseshoe Bend, at Three o'clock, TO-MORROW (SUNDAY) AFTERNOON.
