Family connections for William (Pincham) are: Some amendments added Sep 2025. PINCHAM William (Pinchin/am) was born about 1782/7 & became a soldier with the Wiltshire Regiment of Militia. He was tried for desertion at Plymouth Docks Court Martial Devonshire on 21 4 1806, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 27 7 1807 after a voyage of 6months on DUKE OF PORTLAND; he was Protestant. He married Ann (Patfield age 16 her first marriage) on 11 6 1812 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. He is recorded in 1828 as being Free by Servitude with Conditional Pardon & a settler/farmer at Field of Mars (near Pennant Hills). He died on 17 1 1836 age54 at Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Ann (Patfield) was born on 28 3 1796 & baptised on 2 7 1796 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. She married secondly Samuel (Pearce). She died on 21 9 1855 age59or63 at Kissing Point mother of 5known children. Details of Ann (Patfield)s family are given in entry for George (Patfield NEPTUNE 1790) on this Website. William (Pinchon/am) & Ann (Patfield) produced 5children: 1.Mary Ann (Pinchon/Pincham) was born on 29 3 1811 at Kissing Point & baptised on 28 12 1817 age6 w/Jane, William at St Johns CofE Parramatta. She married firstly at age15 Samuel (Holloway) emancipist on 26 12 1829 at St Annes CofE Kissing Point & produced 3children.>>> ..Samuel (Holloway) was born about 1794, perhaps in Shropshire, & became a nailor & sawyer. He was tried at Salop (Shropshire) Assizes on 17 3 1819, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 22 9 1820 after a voyage of 5months on AGAMEMNON; he was 5'9" fair ruddy complexion brown hair hazel eyes. In 1820 he was recorded as working as sawyer at Pennant Hills with the name James. In 1822 he was working for Daniel (Mathew), before moving to Emu Plains as a sawyer, from where he ran away-he endured the treadmill at Sydney after capture. He then apparantly worked for a benefactor, Thomas (Hyndes). In 1835 he was arrested for aiding (by provision of food) bushrangers, subsequently being sent in July 1836 to Norfolk Island on CARNARVON. He died on 11 2 1838 age44 of enteritis on Norfolk Island (or accident in carpentry shop) leaving his family in poverty. ..[Some details taken from this Website] .. >>>.Mary Ann (Pinchon/Pincham) married secondly William (Lutherborrow) & produced 1child. She died on 22 2 1907 age95 in Coward Street, Botany mother of 4children. ..William (Lutherborrow) was born about 1808. He is recorded in 1828 with his parents at Kissing Point. He arrived maybe at Hobart Van Diemens Land (Tasmania) free on 19 10 1812 after a voyage of 5.5months on INDEFATIGIBLE accompanying MINSTREL. A Jno (Beaumont) is recorded as came free on stores at Hobart Town on 2 10 1808. He married secondly Harriot/Margaret (Evans age16) on 11 9 1820 at St Davids CofE Hobart. ..Details of John (Beaumont)s family are given in entry for Charles (Smith SURPRISE 1790) on this Website. .. 3.William (Pinchon/Pincham) was born on 21 2 1817 & baptised on 28 12 1817 w/Mary Ann, Jane at St Johns CofE Parramatta. War Office Records. Registers Court Martial. https://nla.gov.au/nla.obj-1606856117/view Private Wm. Pinchen, Wiltshire Militia, Tried at Plymouth, 21 April 1806, for Desertion, Transportation for Life. Case sent to King 14th May 1806 for confirmation.

William, a private soldier in the Wiltshire Regiment of Militia, was tried and convicted of desertion at a Court Martial held at Plymouth Docks on 21st April 1806, he was sentenced to transportation for life. Left England February 1807. Ship:- the 'Duke of Portland' sailed with 189 male convicts on board, there were no recorded deaths during the voyage. Arrived on 27th July 1807. In the colony, William married Ann Patfield, the daughter of convicts George Patfield, 'Neptune' 1790 & Mary O'Brien, 'Bellona' 1793 on 11th June 1812 at Parramatta, they had 5 children between 1814-1828. Citation details: No 406 William Pinchin of the parish of St John Parramatta and Snn Patfield of ditto were married in this church by banns this eleventh day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and twelve by me Samuel Marsden. William made his X mark and Ann signed the register In the presence of Patrick G[illegible] who made his mark and Eleanor Ellott who also made her X mark William died on 17th January 1836 at Sydney.

Sainty & Johnson; 1828 Census of New South Wales: Ref [P0877] Pincham, William, 46, conditional pardon, Duke of Portland, 1807, life, Protestant, settler, Field of Mars. [P0878] Pincham, Ann, 33, born in the colony [P0879] Pincham, Mary, 15, born in the colony [P0880] Pincham, Jane, 14, born in the colony [P0881] Pincham, Ann Jun., 8, born in the colony. [P0882] Pincham, William, 6 months born in the colony.

In the colony, William married Ann Patfield, the daughter of George Patfield (Second Fleet Convict, Neptune, 1790) and Mary O'Brien (Convict, Bellona, 1793). William Pinchin of the parish of St John Parramatta and Ann Patfield of ditto were married in this church by banns this eleventh day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and twelve by me Samuel Marsden. William made his X mark and Ann signed the register. In the presence of Patrick G[illegible] who made his mark and Eleanor Ellott who also made her X mark.
