Family connections for George (Pinkerton) are: PINKERTON George (Pinkerton) was born about 1794/6, perhaps in co.Tyrone Ireland & became a carpenter & soldier. He was tried at Cape of Good Hope South Africa in November 1816, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 10 3 1817 on SIR WILLIAM BENSLEY. He is recorded as a Govt labourer in 1818 & was living at Liverpool when he married with permission Mary (Nie/eild also of Liverpool her first marriage) on 24 12 1818 at St Johns CofE Parramatta Cumberland. He was issued his Absolute Pardon on 10 3 1819. He was recorded as a Govt labourer w/wife & 1child in 1820. In 1823 he is recorded at Liverpool w/1child. [Some details taken from this Website] Mary (Nie/eild) arrived in NSW free on 15 2 1806 after a voyage of 5.5months on TELLICHERRY. She was living at Liverpool 1818. She was recorded w/husband & 1child in 1820. She had a second relationship with William (Jamieson) & produced 1child. She produced 2known children in her lifetime.
