He was tried at Cape of Good Hope South Africa in November 1816, sentenced to Life & arrived in NSW as a convict on 10 3 1817 on SIR WILLIAM BENSLEY. He is recorded as a Govt labourer in 1818 & was living at Liverpool when he married with permission Mary (Nie/eild also of Liverpool her first marriage) on 24 12 1818 at St Johns CofE Parramatta Cumberland. He was issued his Absolute Pardon on 10 3 1819. He was recorded as a Govt labourer w/wife & 1child in 1820. In 1823 he is recorded at Liverpool w/1child.
