In 1837 he was assigned to John (Rowe) at South Creek/St Marys Parramatta; he was maintaining his son Rowland. In 1838 he was at John (Blaxland)s farm at Luddenham Mulgoa. He was issued his Ticket of Leave 42/799 on 12 3 1842 while assigned to Mr (Ostler) & his Conditional Pardon 50/545 on 10 8 1850 for Penrith-later extended (50/546) to travel to Parramatta. In 1851/2 he is recorded as having a leasehold at St Marys/South Creek Penrith & carpenter Free by Servitude.
