Richard Pitt, alias Michael Pitt, alias Richard Carney, for stealing in the parish of St. Paul, Deptford, a linen shirt, gold breast pin &c. the property of Giles Young. Kentish Weekly Post, 27 Mar 1810 The following prisoners were removed from Maidstone gaol to Woolwich, and put board the Hulk, previously to their transportation Botany Bay, viz. Richard Pitt, John Bourn, and John Green for life, … Kentish Gazette, 25 May 1810.




Richard Pitt embarked for the Port of Dalrymple board the Brig "Lady Nelson" 29th Jun 1812 (CON13/1/1) He was convicted at the Kent Assizes 19 Mar 1810 1822 Richard was a servant to Richard Dry at Port Dalrymple. (Col Sec Fiche 3203; 4/1861 p.13) Richard Pitt married Philladelphia (Phillis) Heasman ('Mary Anne' 1816) at the Church of St Johns Launceston on 29th January 1821 Their daughter Matilda Pitt was born 20 Aug 1821 Norfolk Plains. Richard Pitt died at Perth 20th March 1843. At the time he was death he was the Licensed Victualler of Saint Andrews Inn.
