Stealing 9 shillings and 6 pence and a silk scarf. William Pitt, whom was transported circa 1828 at the age of 19, served his 14 years sentence for stealing 9 shillings and 6 pence and a silk scarf. In 1842 on completion of his sentence William Pitt married this Elizabeth Murfet whose family was askance at her marrying a convict.
