James was 28 years old on arrival, and was 5'4 1/2" tall, light brown hair, blue eyes, fresh complexion, stout, married - no children. 14/10/1851: TOL Nov. 1853: CP James had a defacto relationship with mary Ann Crapper - she was born in 1832 in England and died 1913 in Geraldton, WA. They had 5 children, Elizabeth b.C1854, James William b.C1856, Jane b.29/6/1858 in Perth, Mary b. C1861 and died 1861, Jesse b. 1862, Middle Swan, WA. 1864: Mary married David Gibson at Geraldton, WA. 1 child, Mary Anne Gibson born 1865. 31/1/1866: James died from 'Excessive drinking' at Perth, WA.
