Joseph Pooler was born in Nov 1807, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England to Edward Pooler and Letitia Hopkins. He was Baptised on 9th June 1808, St. Phillips Cathedral, Birmingham. He was the 7th of 8 children. His father Edward died when he was just 6 years old in 1814.

Thursay 1st or Friday 2nd of April 1830 Joseph Pooler from Birmingham age 22 was stood Trial at Warwick Assizers for stealing a pair of shoes, the property of Richard Turner. Found guilty and sentenced to Death. 2nd conviction first conviction was for Burglary in 1825. Physical Description: Height: 5/5 Hair: D bro Eyes: D hazel Remarks: 1825 X: July]> above elbow joint rt arm. Adam Eve Tree & Serpent J. P. W. P. J. B. L. G. Anchor moon 7 stars heart & darts inside left arm - ring pricked mid finger Married fellow convict Susanna Mill "ATWICK" 17 Aug 1842. On the 10 Oct 1842 there only child Joseph Edward Pooler was born. Occupation in the colony was : Blacksmith
