City Court. Monday. Edmond Power a most respectably dressed man, was indicted for forging a certain bond to the amount of £200, purporting to be executed by Harvey de Montmorency, Esq., of Castlemorris, in the County of Cavan, and with uttering said bond to Henry Downes, of this city. On application of Counsel for the prosecution, the trial was postponed till next Assizes. Waterford Mail, 11 March 1835. Waterford Assizes. Edmond Power, respectable looking man, about years of age, was indicted for forging a certain band bearing date the 3d of November, 1833, for £300, purporting to be executed by Harvey Pratt Montmorency—and on another count with uttering said bond with latent to defraud Henry Downes, of Waterford. Mr. Henry Dowses sworn and examined by Mr. Halchell, K.C—He said he is merchant and deals in whiskey. ln Janary, 1834, the prisoner, whom witness had previously known, got credit from him for whiskey to the amount of nearly £900, and assigned a bond for £200 guarantee for mark of the debt, which purported to be a bond passed by Mr. Harvey Montmorency to the prisoner. There was warrant attached to the bond, and a Judgment entered an it. [Here the bond was produced and sworn to by Mr. Downes], ... …. Waterford Mail, 25 July 1835.
