In the Australian Transport Register it describe Harriet Power being transported from the Middlesex Session Peace after being convicted on 30 September 1833. She was convicted on the same day as Elizabeth Wright and Hannah Knott. Australian Convict Index stated Harriet was born 1805/6. Her native place was Hampshire and that she was a widow (married name not given). Occupation Housemaid and laundry maid. Prisoner number 34/64. Could not find the Convict Annotated Printed Indentures. NSW Settler and Convict List 1834 states that on the date 13 June 1834 Harriet was assigned to Rev. McCarmicheal, Sydney. Government Gazette dated Wednesday 17 October 1838 that Harriet Powers had absconded from Mr Lawrence Harnett, Queanbeyan since October 2. Harriet was described as being aged 33, native of Hampshire, housemaid, 5 feet 31/4 inches, sallow complexion, brown hair and dark hazel eyes. Ticket of Leave dated 1 July 1839 granted. Number 39/1181. Allowed to remain in District of Goulburn on recommendation of Matron of Factory dated 11 June 1839. Latter comment added that Ticket of Leave district altered to Queanbeyan on 30 October 1839 per Police Magistrate (P.M.) (Captain Alured Faunce). Goulburn letter of 28 September 1839. Rev Edward Smith submitted a marriage application on behalf of Harriet Powers and Henry Toombs (Eleanor) on 3 September 1839. Harriet was 34 years old, widow, status Ticket of leave; assigned to Mr A. Campbell and character civil and industrious. Henry Toombs was 29 years old, bachelor, status conditional pardon and assigned to Mr L. Harnett and character upright. Approval granted 19 September 1839 and they married 1 November 1839.
