Ralph Pratt was transported on the Surrey Or Surry, departing 29th Sep 1818 and arriving 4th Mar 1819 with 160 passengers.
Built at Harwich in 1811 a square-rigged transport ship of 443 tons and copper lined she had two decks with a height between decks of 5 ft. 8 ins. In 1818, she had a major refit increasing the decks (and convict carrying capacity) to three. She was owned by the London firm of F. & C.F. Mangles.

Ralph Pratt, late of Newbottle, and John Pratt, of Hebburn, charged with uttering each a forged one pound note the Bank England. Tyne Mercury, 2 Dec 1817. FORGERY. Ralph Pratt, aged 30, and John Pratt, aged 24, were arraigned for uttering, respectively, a 1£. forged Bank of England note, and pleaded Not Guilty. After a long consultation with their Counsel, they pleaded guilty to a second arraignment possessing each a forged note, knowing it to forged, no evidence in consequence was offered support of the capital charge, and they were acquitted of it. Statesman, 3 Aug 1818. Ralph Pratt and John Pratt, for having forged notes in their possession, with intent to utter the same — fourteen years' transportation. New Times, London, 15 Aug 1818. On Wednesday morning, Ralph Pratt and John Jones, convicted at the last Assizes, and Ralph Howe, tried at the Midsummer Sessions, were taken from the gaol in this city, on their way to hulks, agreeably to their respective sentences of transportation.
