1818 - TRIAL; 28 October 1818 THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE OLD BAILEY Born; 1796 Tried at Old Bailey, London (Middlesex goal delivery). Accused of grand larceny (stealing, on the 24th of september, two reins, value 8s.; two pair of harness and traces, value 30s.; the goods of John Walker ; one collar, value 2s., the goods of William Jarman ; and one bridle, value 2s.). Found guilty. Sentenced to transportation. Sentence outcome was transported. 1828 - COURT; Status: Free by servitude Trial date: 3 May 1828 Offense: Stealing one saddle, value: ?2, one pair of girths, value: 5/- and one pair of stirrups, value: 10/- property of joseph hone Verdict: Guilty - To be transported for 7 years 1830 - Trial; 13 February 1830. Sentence; 7 years Colonial Times Fri 14 May 1830. Page 4. Quarter Sessions. Thomas Primrose, generally called 'Prinny, and James Haylaud, were charged with stealing a coat and sundry articles of wearing apparel fiom the Prisoners' Barracks, the property of Thomas Chillingworth, a fellow prisoner. Primrose, it appeared was a Wardsman in the Barracks, and had taken an opportunity to steal the articles in question, and to convey them out of the Barracks by Hayland, who had been only a few days in the Colony, and it was fully apparent had been entrapped into this offence by Primrose, and probably without being aware that the articles were not the property of Primrose.
