Ship News- Arrivals. From London and Hobart Town, .on Thursday, the ship Moffatt, 820 tons, Captain Bolton, from the former the 16th November, the latter the 19th instant, lading Colonial produce from Hobart Town. Passengers — Mr. and Mrs. Kemp, Rev. Messrs. Orton and Wilkinson, Major Smyth, 39th Regt.,Mrs. Montgomery and child, and Dr. King, R.N. In the steerage 17 adults, and 21 children, (emigrants forwarded to Sydney by the Tasmanian Government), 9 soldiers of the 50th Regt.,and 30 prisoners of the Crown. Commercial Journal, 28 Apr 1838. -------------------------------------------------- The ship Moffatt took 30 prisoners from Van Diemen's Land to N.S.W. in 1838. A number of these prisoners were black.

Retd. to Got & sent to Green Ponds. Aug 30 1837, misconduct in striking 2 of his fellow prisoners. Case dismissed.
