At Cambridge, Richard Beavis and William Prior, the former for a burglary at Stapleford, and the latter for stealing from a dwelling house at Granchester, were both capitally convicted, and received sentence of death, but were reprieved. Guildford 1812, Life, protestant, Tenant at Illawarra district. Holds 240 acres, of which 20 are cleared and cultivated. Hannah Prior, age 32, Wanstead, 1813, Life, protestant, and children, all born in colony, Hannah 14; James,12; William, 11; Benjamin, 9; Betsey, 7; Rachael, 5; Mary, 3; and Matilda. -------------------------------------------------- Convict Index 1791-1873. At his residence, Avondale, Illawarra, on the 23rd February, after a short illness, aged 77, Mr. William Prior, an old colonist of 44 years. His many good qualities secured for him a large circle of friends (who attended his funeral) and, who, together with his widow, lamented their loss. The People’s Advocate, 10 Mar 1855. -------------------------------------------------- DEATH. At Avondale on the 14th instant, at the residence of the deceased’s son, Mr Benjamin Prior, Hannah Prior, aged 72 years, and relict of Mr William Prior.
