Nelson Proctor, aged 21, was tried for stealing a gelding. the property of W. Aburrow, at Hambledon: also bridle and saddle. The Jury after some hesitation, returned verdict of Guilty. The court sentenced him to be transported for life, the law leaving no alternative in offences in offences of this nature. Dorset County Chronicle, 17 July 1834. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Wilson Proctor and Jonathan Baker, the former transported for life, the latter for fourteen years, have been removed on board the Leviathan hulk, in Portsmouth harbour. Hampshire Telegraph, 18 Aug 1834.
