William PROUDLOVE (also known as William PASS) was convicted at Chester on 29 Nov 1841 for Larceny - stealing silk. 15 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Candahar' arriving 21 July 1842. Aged 19yrs; labourer; Protestant; 5'1 1/2"; mark of punishment on his back. Native Place: Congleton, Chester, England Stated his proper name as Proudlove. Mother - Ann, at native place 3yrs Probation Period, Class 3rd. Primary Labour Gang. 26 Dec 1842: Died, at South Port, VDL.(ref. Convict Conduct Record book)
