1829 - Waterloo's first voyage arrived at Sydney Cove 9 July 1829. 180 Male Convicts. 2 Died on voyage. 7 sent to the hospital on landing. Total mustered; 171. Stephen Addison - Commander Michael Goodsire - Surgeon Superintendent [His wife was a passenger] 1842 - The Waterloo voyage of 1842 was wrecked on 28/8/1842. 189 people drowned, these being 143 convicts, 15 men of the 99th Regiment, together with 17 wives and children, the boatswain Mr. Chiverton, the sailmaker, the carpenter and 11 of the crew. Convicts were then received in Cape Town Prison from the wreck of the Waterloo, 2nd September 1842. They then completed their voyage to VDL per “Cape Packet” which arrived on 23/11/1842.

Lawrence Quin was listed as 16 years old on arrival. Native Place: Dundalk Occupation: Servant boy. Lawrence could read, was RC, single, 5'1" tall, sallow complexion, dark brown hair, dark hazel grey eyes, scar near centre of forehead, diagonal scar over right eye, warts thumb and forefinger of left hand, and others disfigured by a burn. 28/7/1838: COF - renewed 23/6/1841 On his COF he is listed as a sailor, 5'5" tall, dark sallow complexion, black hair, hazel eyes, nose cocked, scar under and over outer corner of right eye, brow/perhaps brown?? (hard to read) small scar on centre of forehead, head has been diseased, anchor L Q and 2 stars inside right wrist, lost top of 3rd finger of right hand, lost left thumb and top of forefinger of left hand. Listed on Ancestry as 23 years old. 23/6/1841: COF renewal - he was 26 years old.
