Contributed by Dennis Nightingale on 5th June 2015 133160 Quirk John - Guildford 1829. 1829 November - AO NSW Convict Indents Fiche No. 673. Age 55. Married with 7 children. Occupation Cooper. Tried in Dublin 21 January 1829 and sentenced to 7 years transportation for stealing iron. Assigned to John Eales on arrival. 124893 Quirk John - Guildford 1829. 1835 30 June Newcastle gaol NGE. Cooper from Wexford. Admitted to Newcastle gaol 30 June under sentence of 14 days in solitary confinement and return to his master.

John Quirk was 55 years old on arrival and was transported for ‘Stealing Iron’. John was 5’5” tall, ruddy complexion, grey eyes, bald, married with 7 children. Assigned to John Eales on arrival – Hunter River. 30/6/1835: Admitted to Newcastle gaol 30 June under sentence of 14 days in solitary confinement and return to his master. 5/4/1836: COF There are 2 deaths listed on the NSW BDM which fit his birthdate: 1842 aged 70 Or 1863 aged 89 at Liverpool – which matches exactly.
