Lucy RABBITTS was convicted at Surrey, England on 14 Sept 1835 for stealing a coat and other articles from a dwelling. 7yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the 'Arab' ship arriving 25 April 1836. Single woman; aged 24yrs; 4'11". Tattoos: "Edward Fordon" on right arm. Native Place - Coventry, England. Assigned to work services in the Colony, including at the Female Factory and Orphan School, Hobart. 5 Dec 1836: Sentence extended 6 mths. 25 Feb 1837: Application for permission to marry - to William GREY (transported per 'Caledonia'). 22 May 1839: Refusing to live with her husband because of constant disagreements. Returned to the Female Factory for reassignment. 1840: Ticket of Leave granted. 1842: Free Certificate no. W684.
