Catherine was a married woman when she was convicted. Her husband and it appears two sons came with her to Tasmania. She received 3 extra years for stealing a leg of mutton in Hobart. She remarried as a widow another convict William Thompson 16 May 1842 already having had a son in 1840 and later a daughter. She left Tasmania and her husband and went to Victoria where she settled in Spring Creek near Beechworth with John Byers (John Byhurst) another convict. She drowned after falling off a weir over Spring Creek whilst intoxicated. Alcohol appears to have been a big problem for her throughout her life.
