Thomas is recorded on the ship's list and Tasmanian Archives as "Randle", therefore his surname is best left as this on records. The spelling may have originally been "Randall" or changed later on records, but Joan you have given no source references for this change. "Alias" name also means other known as names as well as a different alias name. The details of his records in VDL will only be found under "Randle". Conduct Record in VDL is on Tasmanian Archives, pg 279 of book. His trade is listed as a shoemaker; aged 16yrs; Hazel eyes; brown hair; 5'3 1/4", born abt 1803 London. 16/06/1821: stealing from E. Lord Esq., and to be transferred to Newcastle for the remainder of his sentence.
