SAMUEL RANSON, (30), charged with stealing from the person of James Hanney, £150, the property of Messrs. Mirfin, of Doncaster. … James Hanney, the person robbed, was at the time, in the employ the prosecutors, Messrs. Mirfin, of Manchester, drapers, who have also establisliment, in Doncaster. the April last, he was sent with a parcel from to Manchester, which contained .£150 notes and cash. imprudently stopped at Sheffield, and drank at the Anvil public-house, where he displayed his parcel in the presence of the prisoner. Stupified with drink, he fell asleep, and the prisoner took parcel from his pocket.—Guilty. Yorkshire Gazette, 1 Sept 1832.
